TECHNOLOGY. WORK.
FAMILY. IRONMAN.
I’m not a professional athlete and I’m not a coach. I’m an Age Grouper who likes understanding how things work — in software, in data and, inevitably, in sport too.
SPORT CAME
LATER.
I played tennis as a boy. Then sport largely disappeared for almost twenty years: work, programming, family and everyday life already filled the calendar.
I returned through running in 2015. Then came padel, my first bike ride in July 2022 and, three months later, my first Olympic triathlon. My first IRONMAN 70.3 followed in 2023 and my first Full in 2024.
Triathlon is not the centre of my life. It is one part of my life that I happen to take very seriously.
The rest is work, family, friends, cooking and curiosity. Training fits where it can: early mornings, lunch breaks, evenings and weekends.
I work with software, CRM, Customer Experience and artificial intelligence. I like building things and understanding what sits behind the data.
I train and race around a normal life. This site documents my experience: it is not coaching and it is not a training prescription.
Garmin, performance, recovery and rankings became things to explore. Athlete AI and Data Lab grew out of that curiosity.
